About Cygnus Instruments Ltd
Here at Cygnus Instruments Ltd we specialise in the manufacture and supply of ultrasonic thickness gauges.
Established over 30 years ago, Cygnus has lead the way in developing digital Multiple-Echo technology to obtain accurate materials and corrosion thickness measurements through coatings. Following extensive customer engagement, Cygnus have now developed a new range of NDT ultrasonic thickness gauges which still use the well established Multiple-Echo technique but also incorporates Single-Echo and Echo-Echo measuring modes to assist in obtaining measurements in areas of extreme corrosion or back wall pitting.
A range of the diverse industries in which the Cygnus ultrasonic thickness meters can be utilised in include: measurement of oil pipeline thickness; testing of offshore structures; tanker corrosion inspection; hatch cover testing; inspection of hazardous environments; civil engineering and many more.
We supply both surface thickness gauges and underwater thickness gauges as well as a hatch cover leak detector used for testing weather tightness of hatch covers providing a quick and effective method of evaluating hatch seals and aiding the prevention of sea water ingress.
