System Features
As the ME 4012 PA system can be based on a centralized or decentralized configuration, it is always capable of providing the flexibility required for easy adjustment to the customer-specific applications. The intelligence of the system is integrated in centrally organized processing units (CPU) which has the advantage of keeping the binary I/O modules without preprocessing functions. As a result, only the analog I/O modules needed to be provided with preprocessing functions to ensure the necessary accuracies, resolutions (conversion periods) and filter functions. Depending on the number of I/O modules required, 1-n processing units can be connected via the TCP/IP-based system bus, which is also available in a redundant setup.
The functionality of the systems is determined by function blocks defined during project design. These function blocks contain standard function sequences tried and tested for the corresponding telecontrol tasks. Only the function block parameters selected for the specific application are offered to the user. If necessary these parameters can be modified within the limits of the enabled areas using the ME-DRP/NLT configuration tool. Due to this basic specification of the system's functionality (function grouping) and the enabling of only those parameters that are really necessary, plant commissioning is greatly facilitated.
Function blocks can be modified to accommodate changed requirements without affecting the other existing function blocks.
