In 1996 Destec Engineering performed a world first when they commenced preliminary cutting to remove the Regenerator Head at Mobil's Coryton Refinery 25 days, in advance of day 1 of their planned turnaround start date, allowing the head to be lifted on mechanical day 2.

Cutting of both the vessel shell and internal refractory were carried out dry, from the outside, and included all the necessary weld prepping ready for reinstatement of the head.

All with NO MESS and NO POLLUTION.

Since those early days Destec has continued with development of the technique and equipment and it is now readily available for use anywhere in the world. Indeed the growing number of satisfied customers who have benefitted from this unique system is already into double figures and extends from the UK and Europe to the Middle East.
