Destec has designed, developed and built special purpose machines for the oil, petrochemical and nuclear industries. This was a natural progression from the in-house designed and built on-site portable machines that have been used by our own technicians over the last 25 years.

Destec was awarded a design and build contract for Mobil for a machine to remove the regenerator head at Mobil, Coryton.

The work involved machining 9.4m of groove, 25mm wide x 6mm deep, in a cross pattern. Destec designed and built a 4 head hydraulically driven milling machine to carry out the work, that was completed on schedule in nine weeks.

The machine design and operation were instrumental to the fastest turnaround for a unit of that size achieved by Mobil. Our teams of engineers backed-up by the most modern design and manufacturing equipment, are always available for discussions on special machining problems.
