About TBA Protective Solutions

TBA Protective Solutions manufacture into the electronics, defence, medical and food industries where safe handling areas are required, and also into ATEX handling industries where the risk of explosion is high. The product groups fall mainly into 5 areas, Static Control, EMI Shielding, Electrically Conducting Polymers, Electrically Conductive Coatings, Magnetically Detectables and 3D Printing.

Static Control

From complete factory kit outs to bespoke products, TBA is on hand to help you control your static problems. Static discharge can cause devastating effects on electro static sensitive devices such as electronic compenents and so control of any static discharge is important.  TBA manufacture the complete range of products to enable employees to work safely in a controlled static safe environment.  Static Control products include Work Station & Grounding Kits, Conductive and Static Dissipative Matting, Conductive Heel Straps and Conductive and Static Dissipative Boxes and Bins use for safe handling areas.  Static Audits are also available where Static Control problems can be discussed and identified.

EMI RFI Shielding Gaskets, Windows, Vents and Tapes

For shielding against Radio Frequency Interference and Electro Magnetic Interference, TBA's range of Shielding Products include EMI RFI Shielding Beryllium Copper (Be/Cu) Gaskets, Soft Fabric Over Foam Gaskets, Knitted & Wire Mesh Gaskets, Shielding Fan Vents and Copper Tapes.  

Often used to take up gaps in electronic enclosures TBA's shielding gaskets can close even the smallest of gaps shielding against and from EMI RFI waves.  The be/cu gasket range is very comprehensive and includes stick on, snap on, and hook on gaskets. Attenuations exceeds 100db in most instances.  A range of stainless steel fingerstock is also available.  Where very low compression forces are required the be/cu gaskets can be supplied in thinner material (low compression).  A range of stainless steel fingerstock is also available.

For very low compression forces or where gaps are very large, TBA's range of soft fabric over foam gaskets are ideal.  The gaskets are made of TPE closed cell foam enased within a nickel copper coated fabric.  Generally supplied in 1m lengths, they are an ideal alternative to be/cu where gaps are uneven.

Knitted gaskets include metal mesh over silicone sponge, or just solid mesh gaskets. Metal loaded rubbers are also available in various widths and lengths. Copper tapes and shielding fan vents are also offered.

Electrically Conducting Polymers

TBA's range of polymers include conductive and static dissipative grades.  Small lots can be provided (25 kg bags).  Ideal for moulding conductive products, the polymers are suitable for injection moulding and extrusion. Conductive PP, PS, PBT, Nylon, EVA, LDPE, PC/ABS and clear acrylic compounds are offered.  

Electrically Conducting Coatings

Modified with conductive fillers to provide varying degrees of electro conductivity, TBA's coatings are especially suitable for use in applications where protection from static electricity and electro magnetic interference (EMI) is required.

Conductive, Shielding and Static Dissipative grades are used on product of floor coverings in aerosol or bulk paint.  A permanently conductive transparent graphene paint has also been developed for use in ATEX handling areas.  In house spraying is also available.

Magnetically Detectables

For the food industry, a range of Magnetically Detectable Products has been developed such as detectable jugs, spoons and buckets.  

3D Printing

TBA's 3D printing service allows small runs, tool trials and sampling.
