Resurfacing, A Not So Grave Situation
Building & ConstructionOur last project was a rather unusual request; the request came from our directors Father. (Michael Irons) After the passing of his wife (Anne Irons) the plot was getting tougher and tougher to try to keep in a good condition, as you can see in the left photo.
So the decision was made to resurface the plot, our director Richard Irons suggested that “the plot should be made to try to look as natural as possible while also making it easy to maintain”. The basic design that was agreed upon by both Father and Son was to resurface to plot with bonded bark, and leave holes for plant pots to sit in. By leaving these holes it allows for the plants to be taken and swapped around allowing for an easy to manage and good looking site.
Using the bonded bark for the resurfacing was a tough call as any of our different products would have been a good fit for the project, however what really brought bonded bark to our attention is the rubber surface has been specifically designed to keep a natural and ‘woodland’ effect, this fits with keeping the feel of the church yard.
After the resurfacing was completed, the happy son Richard Irons said that ‘The job looks dead good, (the pun was intentional), and that we can now go and talk with Anne without having the hard task of having to garden the plot.” Michael Irons said “The grave really looks amazing and it will be much better being able to focus entirely on my wife and be able to talk to her freely without worrying about keeping the area in top condition.”
