Xylems YSI Life Sciences division presents 2
LaboratoriesThe Life Sciences division of YSI, a Xylem brand, provides measurement solutions for clinical, industrial, and research applications. YSI pioneered enzyme electrode technology for whole blood glucose measurements, and further developed that technology for many clinical and industrial applications. Some examples include; glucose and xylose measurement in bioethanol production, ethanol measurement in corn stillage (beer) during distillation, and testing the spoilage of fruit in storage.
On 28-29th January 2016, YSI will be attending IBioIC’s 2nd Annual Conference at the Technology and Innovation Centre (TIC) at the University of Strathclyde Glasgow. IBioIC specialise in Industrial Biotechnology, making the conference a perfect fit for YSI who will present their latest technical poster, “Rapid Measurement of Xylose and Glucose for Monitoring Corn Stover Fermentation in Bioethanol Production,” which will be of particular interest to researchers and production engineers attending the conference.
YSI will also demonstrate the benefits of the 2900 Series Biochemistry Analyser at their booth on level 1 of the conference. The 2900 Series is modular in design and offers a range of configurations for up to 3 sensor modules and is capable of measuring as many as 6 chemistries in less than a minute. The chemistries range from: glucose, lactate, glutamine, xylose, ethanol, methanol, sucrose, galactose, lactose, choline, glycerol and hydrogen peroxide, with additional measurement of ammonium and potassium
Other features include:
· Analyte specific results in one minute or less.
· Proprietary immobilized enzyme electrodes.
· Unique fluidics resists clogging.
· Trusted measurement technology.
· Automated sample handling.
A team of specialists will be on hand to discuss the various capabilities of Xylem’s analytical offering including simple laboratory instrumentation for refractive index, pH, turbidity, conductivity and DO measurement to more complex analysers such as high performance, multiple wavelength polarimeters and auto-titrators; offering guidance and support for those wishing to find out more about the technology.
